What would life look like if you were an Isaan (northeast Thai) follower of Jesus?

  • Would you call yourself a Christian, a child of God, or a Buddhist?
  • Would you still feel a need to participate in merit making or would you feel freed from this?
  • Would you be buried or cremated when you die?
  • Would there be incense used at your funeral?
  • Would you use a piano, a kaen or no instruments in worship?

LIFE exists to help Isaan men and women find out what it means for them to become followers of Jesus.
How?

  • Learning about and discussing with people just what they believe.
  • Explaining what is distinctive about being a follower of Jesus
  • Helping followers of Jesus gather together to build communities of love
  • Enabling believers in Jesus to gather for worship
  • Training these individuals and communities so that they might be instruments of truth and love in their communities, drawing others to follow the true light, Jesus.

All of this is done with a commitment to helping Isaan people find ways of following Christ that allow them to continue to be authentically Isaan.
