September 2004 ![]() Dear Friends, |
Thank you for your prayers for us and the work here in Northern Thailand. It was good to get back to Chiang Mai and see friends and eat Thai food at Thai prices again. It didn’t take long to get back into the swing of things and get used to driving on the other side of the road. August ended up being a pretty busy month with Randy going to teach at a discipleship training center for the Karen people near Burma for a few days. He helped them set up ponds for tilapia, walking catfish and frogs, and taught on the basics of fish farming. |

The end of August brought a short term missions team from Rolling Hills Covenant Church in CA. They were here for 12 days and were involved in teaching English at a local Thai school and to youth and adults from the community near the farm in the evenings. The 3 men of the team worked on installing a new, larger 8” water pipe line to supply our ponds with more water. It was very hot working on the line but they and the Thai workers got it done. (The backhoe we rented helped a lot, too.) Thank you to Rolling Hills for the team and all the work and ministering they did. Our Thai teammates and others with whom they interacted were very encouraged by their enthusiasm and servant attitude. ![]() |

Anan and Gretchen DeNeui (Cov. missionary) had a good trip to the US attending the Covenant Women’s Triennial Conference in Portland and also visiting churches in California. Anan came back very encouraged and thankful for the chance to meet Covenant women from the US and around the world. Cheryl is involved in the worship team at the international church we attend and is co-leading a women’s Bible study group. She is also taking an online statistics course as part of her requirements towards her degree in speech/language pathology. Elsie (gr.4) and Noah (gr.2) are happy to be back to their school and friends here. They were also glad to return to warmer-than-MN-in-the-summer temps so they could play in the pool again! |
