After 27 years in Thailand, Jim and Joan left for the U.S. in September, 1988, when Jim began four years as the Executive Director of World Missions for the Evangelical Covenant Church. After completing his doctorate Jim now works as a professor at Tokyo Christian University. He remains active in the work of both the IDF and ISD, serving on the Board of Directors of both organizations and acting in an advisory capacity by phone and e-mail, as well as in person on the occasions when his schedule allows him to travel to Thailand.
